Our room also had a view of the small Ixtapa Island, which is beautiful at sundown. You can catch a small boat over to the island at fixed times during the day and have a meal in one of the restaurants and explore the island. While on the island, I had a lovely massage on the beach while Jeron took advantage of the amazing snorkeling. The island is quite popular with tourists, so we recommend getting to the dock early, as there are limited seats on the boat. It is only about a 10 minute boat ride to Playa Coral. Once there, we took one of the trails over to the other side and had drinks on the beach at Playa Veradero. If you want to snorkel, you cannot do it at Playa Coral, so you will have to cross to Playa Veradero. It was very easy to arrange snorkeling, and it is fairly inexpensive to rent equipment if you don’t have your own. We did not spend much time on the island because we did not realize all that it had to offer, such as hiking trails and more beautiful beaches, but we recommend that you check it out and possibly spend the day there.
